Inasmuch as I'm a mom, I don't have hobbies so much as ideas of what hobbies might resemble should I find free time. When such a thing DOES present itself, I enjoy hiking, urban hiking (translated: ambling around GV or Bexley whilst people-watching), moseying through the Book Loft, checking out museums, seeing weird little films and cooking.

It's hard for me to feel at ease in a club since it's quite difficult to converse. Ditto for sporting events and big chain restaurants.

For the seven of you still reading, I think you'll find that I'm pretty typical. Though independent, I delight in spending time with a significant other; though intellectual-ish, I crave doing simple things like picking apples. I adore being helpful - you're welcome to borrow a drill bit or a cup of sugar, and I'll be glad to assist if you need an editor for tomorrow's presentation.

Music? Well, shoot...I guess the playlist on CD101 with 105.7 pretty much sums it up. Give me punkish sounds or classic rock and I'm happy. That doesn't mean I haven't dated men who liked Shania Twain or Vivaldi.

Books by Kurt Vonnegut, J.M. Coetzee, Salman Rushdie, Margaret Atwood, Hunter S. Thompson and Douglas Adams make my life so much more complete. Too bad just about half the authors comprising that list have already met their demise, right?

I dig cancelled television programs more than anything in the current rotation. Shows like Arrested Development, Keeping Up Appearances, Malcolm in the Middle and Everyone Hates Chris work wonders when I'm sick on the couch. What can I say...I'm a sucker for writing (and, hm, writers who don't respect the fourth wall).
