About Me
Ladies,
They say in sales that you are never to bash the competition. If you are tired of the fools you find on here you need to stop and think about what you are doing, thinking and feeling. I have been a licensed mental health therapist in the Great State of Indiana for nearly 20 years. I have seen and heard it all. I struggle on my profile with not being too straight forward or pessimistic. Folks on dating websites judge too quickly by a photograph or something that they read in the profile and they miss out on some very good folks that they could have a relationship with before even hearing their voice. It is a shame we have boiled down our options to what we see. Seeing is only one of the 6 senses. I think that the "net" has actually degraded the quality of human interactions. We no longer communicate. We send words, texts and photos. The way that we attempt to find someone is akin to buying a new car. We are looking for their stats, not who they are. I am guilty of it as well. Like any other man, looks come first, naturally. However, this does not preclude me from finding out more about that person.
I have never received a message from any woman that I have not answered. Everyone is entitled to an answer as long as their message was not offcolor, sexist or just plain rotten.
I however am looking for the long-term relationship. I am a well trained gentleman and I know full well that THE WOMAN is right in many instances than most men care to admit too. haha Everything that you will read about me is absolutely true and documented with proof if you so need that kind of validation.
I fancy myself a romance novelist. I am told often that I am a "class clown" with a deep philosophical side. Have written several stories but don't have the gumption to get them published. I always love a happy ending. Guy gets the girl or the girl gets the guy. Sold one story as a screenplay. Co-wrote it with a fraternity brother of mine about 6 years ago. Made ok money. Maybe one day they will turn it into a movie. If they do I am set. We have a contract for 1% of the box-office.
I spend my time writing (mostly letters and journals), working on my old house and I also do some painting (I really am terrible at it, but it's fun). I build furniture when the weather is nice (limited space in the house and have to take it outdoors) I am an outdoor guy. I love the mountains. Sorry that beaches aren't up there on the list. Alpine forests and lakes top it all for views. I love the places in South America that I have been to. Getting lost on a path in the Andes is akin to wandering God's back yard.
When I was a kid I always wanted to be an astronaut. My eyes went bad on me and I had to get glasses and so no Air Force Career. I ended up instead becoming a mental health therapist (not very exciting) Worked for 20 years as a head shrink. Helped a bunch of folks through some ugly stuff.
Now I try to do as little as possible during the day. I have a dream job that affords me a lot of time to do and go where I want. I travel quite a bit when I want to and lug a camera around everywhere I go. Life is interesting. I have never been bored a day in my life. There is always something to do in my world.
My favorite places on this earth are down in Central and South America. Primarily the south of Chile in the Lake District. It literally is God's back yard. If you ever go, you will not want to come home. It blows any other vacation spot you have been to clean out of the competition. Unrivaled beauty down in and around the Andes. I am happy to share any portion of my picture stash with anyone who would like to see.
As far as music goes, I like it all except country and wrap. Big Band, Sinatra, Martin, Peter Murphy, Sting, Moby, ATB, Anything 60's 70's or 80's. Motown is always great stuff, I like it all.
As far as women go; I like them kinda tall, attractive and sassy with dark wit. Sarcasm is always a huge bonus. If you can slap me around verbally and make it fun...... you are golden. My daughters also appreciate a rotten sense of humor. My main goal in life is to have fun and learn some things along the way.
Music?? C'mon. Tony Bennett, Sinatra, Steve Tyrell, Harry Connick, Jr, Dean Martin, Andy Williams, U2, INXS, Prince, Clash, Bing Crosby, Stones, Sting, Dire Straits, Anything 80's. Wanna get the girl?????? Nat King Cole.
Sometimes on the way out of the diamond field, the last rock that you kick has the best gems under it.
Let the permanent record of life reflect that I have never left anyone without a smile on their face and a song in their heart.
First Date
I am game for just about any kind of a date. In most of life's situations you have to play it by ear and fly by the seat of your pants. Any time, any place, any way; I can be there and make the evening fun. I promise. I tend to gravitate towards nicer restaurants where you can linger after dinner and interrogate one another over dessert and coffee. Flemings is my favorite place. Their Chocolate Cannonball is tops with ice cream and coffee. I have a bit of a weakness for romance and the ways of old. Some of the stuff that I write could be considered comedy/romance. I love a happy ending.
