I would like to meet someone to talk with and see if we both would like to meet. She must have a good sense of self and know what she wants in love, life, and in the future. She must be honest with herself and her feelings and be able to express them thoughtfully, carefully and honestly. Having a great sense of humor is essential, as one can tell a lot about a person by what and/or who they laugh at.

I'm easy going, a hopeless romantic and love to cater to my lover. I love classic rock, some of the newer pop stuff for dancing, the beach, the mountains, Vegas, and movies...I do not like: those who wear their religion on their sleeve, those who are so political that they become mundane and defensive; defensive people who have to have it their way all the time or at least make an excuse for losing control and being hurtful and blaming someone else for what they say or do (YOU made me do it!) - absurd; sitcoms, most TV dramas (enough of that comes along in real life!) and mindless talk show chatter.....and, oh yes, I like country music on and off - when it's on, I like it off. I have nothing against it, I just do not understand it.

Smiles are most important, and remembering that the first rule of conversation is sincerity and is at the very very top of the list.

Once I'm in love and committed, I have never rejected my partner for love-making, or for conversation to settle an issue, and I believe that a couple should never go to bed angry, but instead should settle or agree to settle an issue, then get calm and "get back in love again". Life's too short to carry negative things around.

What I both want and can offer in a relationship are THE BIG THREE:

1) intellectual stimulation,

2) kindness, and

3) unbelievably great passion. Those may sound pretty basic, but let me elaborate.

First there's BRAINS. I'm smart, assertive and independent. You must dig those qualities in a man and have them yourself. Like me, you need to care what's going on in the world and be involved in it. You must love to discuss things, be intrigued by new ideas, and love to learn. You must be educated, through both school and experience.

Second, you gotta be NICE. People describe me as a warm person, and if you've ever been described as cold, we're not a good match. I like to surround myself with people who are positive, kind, respectful, thoughtful and loving, as I am myself. I love to make my partner happy, and am quite generous in this regard. I believe that's a lot of what love is, and want someone who wants to do for me as well. It would be great if you enjoy pet names, holidays, silly greeting cards, and old-fashioned romance. Communication is a key to closeness for me - my partner must be willing share her thoughts and appreciate my sharing mine. I also pride myself on my responsibility and follow-through, doing what I say I'll do, not putting things off, taking care of life's many chores efficiently. I really want a partner who also has these characteristics. Love is what you get....the rest is BS.

Third, there's PASSION. I really enjoy making love often and well, and want you to have a strong libido too. I love kissing a good kisser who really relishes kissing. Research, some of it mine, shows that those committed couples with a great healthy sex life live longer 'cause they want to. The other kind of passion that's important to me is non-physical expressed without fear of any kind.

Like me, I want you to love life enthusiastically, without reserve, savoring many different interests and adventures. You should be high-energy, social, charismatic, talkative, funny, and confident without being arrogant. You must be able to fall in love, to want a commitment. I'm quite touchy-freely, so lots of snuggling and tasteful public displays of affection are a must.

DEAL-BREAKERS: I am a liberal, so if you're conservative, I'm afraid we're not a match. In fact, being around conservatives makes me want to go somewhere else.

EXTRAS: I relish city stuff like theatre, movies, art, and fine dining (if I had a religion, it would be food, love and .....!) I also love to get away to the country, especially the ocean, and enjoy foreign travel and want to share this with my partner.

I divorced 11 years ago from a marriage that was really good for 9 years before turning south. We parted without lawyers and without me being soured on the institution of marriage. If I wanted to be in an institution, I would have myself commited to a nut house.

I don't have any children at home and prefer you to have none still at home unless they are responsible and not a burden to you. I am a polite smoker, not inside the house, car or places where it bothers people. I would like to be a non-smoker and it is so difficult.

I appreciate a height and weight proportionate woman - "a few extra pounds" is OK, but not more than about 10 or 15 pounds for your height.
