I just graduated on May 17th with a BA in American studies and have no idea what to do with it. Hang it on the wall, place it on a table, get a job, go to grad school. I thought about going straight to grad school but I found myself applying for masters programs that were similar to American Studies. So I stopped applying. These liberal artsy majors aren't that useful when trying to find employment in a high paying, comfortable job. They just help you become a teacher and I don't want to teach. When I go for my Masters I need to study something a little more practical like Economics or public policy, not interdisciplinary AMS. Too bad I lack the credentials to get into grad school for econ…I’ll just go to law school eventually and study for the LSATs in the mean time.

I write about my education and future plans not to bore you, but to weed out the guys that get turned off by ambition. Education is super important to me; if you do not have a degree it will be hard for me to take you seriously. The only way I can overlook that is if you demonstrate smarts and are super ambitious.

Aside from school I like to hang out with friends and family, travel, read a good book, have a good drink, run, swim laps, volunteer with children, PeaceJam, a good kiss, Miami, NYC, Denver, Boulder, the continental US and its territories (My name is the name of a US island and the deepest point in the ocean—hint—anairam backwards), cookies, flowers, I LOVE HUGS, laughter, and much more.

What I look for in a partner is somebody who values education as much as I do, is easy going, ambitious, and nice. I’ve had my share of bad boys and I am done with them. If you are a bad boy choose another target.

For our first date I’d like to do something outdoorsy, like a stroll through Central Park, followed by dinner.
