'Why am I here???'

Life doesn't always play out like the script from a Richard Curtis film...so...I'm at a point where I want to meet new people with a little more thought behind the whole process than just chatting to random people on a night out, or waiting for fate to deliver a friend who I click with.

'Who am I'

I'm getting back into my fitness regime after a break. I love going to the gym, not because I'm particularly vain but to get my endorphin fix and stay healthy. I recently cycled home to my folks, which is 79 miles away...

Music-wise I like absolutely everything apart from rnb. On my iPhone at the moment is: Florence & the Machine, Above & Beyond's Trance Around the World Podcast, High Contrast, Jakatta, The Killers and Thievery Corporation.

My holiday passions are that every winter for the past 6 years I've been Snowboarding in Canada, Switzerland, France, Austria etc. It always staggers me how amazingly beautiful the views are on a sunny day in the alps.

The last meal I cooked was a Thai Green curry, from base ingredients, any sauces are cheating! Also I went travelling around Thailand for a summer at uni. I appreciate this isn't terribly off of the beaten track nowadays but it was a good introduction to Asia, and I got to meet Guy Pearce. I don't really enjoy beach holidays as I like to explore, so I tend to just do city breaks in the summer - I've just got back from Prague which was amazing, it's so romantic I kind of wish I'd shared it with someone other than friends.

Work-wise, I'm pretty lucky that I've got a job which I really enjoy although it's a challenge sometimes. I moved to Cheltenham 6 years ago straight from university for it which is why I live in this little part of the world. There aren't any women at all in my line of work, so to stay sane I try and socialise with my sister and her friends to avoid developing an exclusively male-oriented outlook on life.

You're educated, intelligent, witty, self-deprecating, sarcastic, and even if we don't share absolutely every last interest, you're open-minded enough to think about some of the same things..

'Tips on what to write'

Should you have got thus far and feel it's worth putting finger to keyboard, then I'll say this: Well written, thoughtful messages will always get the benefit of my attention, and always a response, if not an immediate request for a date...

As much as I'd like to say that we'd go skydiving or jet off to Paris, realistically this is what will happen:

We'll meet in a bar close to you, we'll have a few drinks and chat about everything and nothing. We'll both be a bit nervous because we're human, but there won't be any awkward silences because I can keep a conversation going with anyone about anything...
