I've always worked too hard and not played enough. I'm proud of the life I've built, but I need to get out there and live more. All that work, sleep, repeat has got to stop. I prefer the simple pleasures in life over a lot of complicated flash and dazzle. No coronaries if I break a nail. My sense of humor can be offbeat at times.

A good day is one spent with people I care about. I have a wide range of interests, so the actual activity doesn't matter that much. The sharing of it is what makes it special. Three times a year I go to the coast and do tidepool photography. I have a deep and abiding passion for the ocean and need regular infusions of salt water. I like to get out and walk everyday, gardening, car shows, day trips just following the nose of the car, home improvement projects (yes, I do the work myself), love movies with gratuitous explosions and improbable car crashes. (Physics is highly overrated!) With that last sad little confession out of the way, my TV preferences do run heavy into science, nature and history. I enjoy most types of music but my favorites are light jazz (long live KSSJ!!), golden oldies and old school R&B.

What am I looking for? Well for starters, it would be nice to find someone who can speak in complete sentences -- at least part of the time. Breathing regularly would be nice. Seriously, though, I'm looking for a best friend and partner in life, someone with a variety of interests he wants to share and who's open to new ones, someone who respects himself and others, someone who's gotten over how rotten his ex-wife is.

I'm not a big believer in relying on instant chemistry. Sometimes it can run people off into a ditch. I'm much more comfortable getting to know someone over time and letting things unfold naturally. If the magic happens, I'm there! But let's explore life one day at a time and see where it takes us. If you have an interest that's not on my list - ask. It might just be something I've always wanted to try.

A good first date is anything that makes conversation easy. If the weather is nice, let's go for a walk. Second date? Frankly, I'm tired of being a grownup. Let's find something fun and silly. Wii bowling?
