This eclectic, funny, bright, big-boned but sensitive, 68 year old, retired kid is living in Palm Harbor, FL. I like to, read (a couple hundred books per year), loaf in the pool, watch a little TV (old movies, Animal Channel, Nat. Geo, documentaries, Seinfeld, ‘mind and body’ specials), putter in the shop (fixing stuff, tinkering), to exercise (walk or bike) about an hour or so per day, and explore new places and ideas.

Am a bit of a kid, an alpha male, but not a social lion, with big hands, full lips, goatee and 'stache, intelligent eyes, curly sparse hair, and most of my teeth, who is starting a new life, is fairly intelligent, a truth-teller, and who doesn't take himself too seriously. I prefer the company of a few intimate friends to large groups of strangers or casual acquaintances. I think I understand what make me and others tick, and am no stranger to the subconscious and unconscious workings of the mind, and usually recognize dishonesty when I see or hear it.

I enjoy interesting conversations (about life, health, the human condition, or almost anything but politics, religion, stereotyping, and crazed hamsters...), a good healthy meal, a thought provoking book (recently read: “Taken”, “P Is For Peril”, “Structure of Evolutionary Theory”, “Myths To Live By”, “Prostate For Dummies”, “King of The Mountain”, “One Door Away From Heaven”), an inspiring movie or play, writing, and the scent and grace of a woman. Have never been married or had children, but I’ve enjoyed a couple of great, decade-long, solid relationships.

I’m kind to animals, senior folks, little kids, and honest, straightforward, friendly people. Am most often found in shorts or jeans, and polos or tees.

I play a blues little harmonica, am not much of a dancer, awful singer, but pretty good with tools and my hands, and I brush and floss twice a day. I enjoy cooking and eating (am about 80% vegetarian) nutrition-oriented, and heart-healthy meals.

I very rarely drink more than two beers, or a glass or two of wine a day. I have a graying goatee and 'stache, no tattoos, or piercings, all but 3 or 4 of my own teeth, a Macintosh, a small touch of asthma, a Toyota pick-up, two cats named Ivy and Lucy, a large library, size 16EEE feet, large XXL strong hands, hazel eyes, soft full lips, and matching ears.

I like to explore new places, hit the beach most days, and savor some well deserved laid back leisure. Am open to most activities, including daily beach walks, shopping, bike rides, impromptu mini-adventures, short naps, day trips, and new restaurants. Am a Florida ‘tourist’ at heart.

In no particular order, I’ve been a stockbroker, draftsman, professional athlete, surveyor, salesman, laborer, Webmaster, project manager, and cook. Just moved back to FL after a 50-year hiatus. Was raised in Daytona, and Memphis. Retired from a F500 company a few years ago, and was careful with my money and investments, and am now happily, financially independent, and should be able to live a long comfortable full life, with a woman who can put up with the likes of me.

I'm looking for someone in the central Florida area, close to Palm Harbor or Clearwater, who is an emotionally and financially independent, casual-type, ectomorphic or fit gal; someone who has left her baggage behind, wants plenty of healthy fun in her life, and who enjoys loafing, exploring, exercise, and healthy food.
