]UPDATE[ Due to fortunes in the economy, I own a home in the Grand Rapids/Wyoming Area and am working in the Detroit/Brownstown Area (Sometimes Fort Wayne, IN). I am currently spending weekends in Grand Rapids and weekdays in Brownstown or Fort Wayne.

Have you ever danced in the rain, laughed in the moonlight, seen an eagle pull a fish from the water, or marveled at the sunrise from the top of a cliff looking over a fog filled valley?

I believe in chivalry, honor, integrity, honesty, and courtesy. I am a dyed-in-the-wool romantic. Ask me any question. I will not lie, but reserve the right to let you know if it's something I will not answer. I would say I am a reasonably decent looking guy, but not Brad Pitt. While I would not call myself athletic, I can look down and see my own belt buckle. So I would not truly call myself average either. Lets go with I am in good shape. I am told my voice is deep and distinctive. I have a bit of a southern accent that gets much stronger when I am tired. I like a drink now and then, but not daily. I don't hang in bars, they tend to be noisy, smoky, and dingy. My goal is to backpack Isle Royale National Park next summer ('10), the economy may push that back a year. I kayak, roller blade, walk, fence (sword combat), or hike.

I am not a huge sports fan. Rather do things then watch them. Don't mind watching sports with someone, but honestly it's more to be with the someone then to watch. I do like to curl up with a good book. The arts are great, theater, movies, museums, sculpture, love it all. I want to see things people put their heart and soul into.

What am I looking for? Someone who Not 'completes' me, but matches or 'complements' me. Someone to share that joke I heard, or the sight I saw. Someone who the thought of makes me smile. I prefer my lady to be independent and intelligent. After all, who else is going to bop me upside the head if I mess up.. "Sugar and spice and Tequila on ice" someone who can be my best friend and confidant. If we have emailed a half dozen times, and find each other interesting, then lets either pick up the phone or arrange a meeting at some safe neutral location. After all the point is to meet someone to spend time with. I have been the custodial parent for 15 years. Most of that time their mom was not in the picture. I believe that kids ALWAYS come first, Mine are older and out of the house so it's less of an issue, but your kids come before me in any relationship, especially if they are still at home. I do want a physical, intimate relationship, (I am a guy), but... sex is not the end all be all in a couple. I am in no hurry to have a sex partner, a life partner is more important.

A great relationship is two people lifting each other up to new heights, not climbing over each other to be on top.

I love antiques, Victorian houses, the outdoors, hiking through the woods, Spending time with friends. I am always willing to try new things. Go in bold directions, enjoy life.

I do not want more children of my own, but have absolutely no problem with someone who has kids of their own. My kids are now all moved one One son is living locally, one is in Japan, and my daughter is in Texas. From there she may end up anywhere in the world. My oldest was in the Army, and the other two are in the Air Force. I was in the Air Force many years ago.

Vegetarian primarily but may compromise I feel the need, not into much junk food. More then happy to cook meat for others, I love to cook.

The new picture I have no hair. My aunt lost her battle with cancer last month and I shaved my head at a cancer walk last week. May keep it that way for a while. She was one of my favorite people in this world.
