I am kind, patient, understanding, down-to-earth, caring, loving, too soft-hearted, romantic, funny, devoted son, great dad, great cook, neat & tidy, animal lover, gardener, slender with semi-athletic build (my son says only 4-pack abs ... LOL). I am passionate about people and things I care about.

I value family, love, heart, education, learning, and conversation. I visit my mom & dad weekly. I have one kid, a low maintenance teen-aged son, who was with me full-time until he turned 14, now half-half. I love pets & am owned by 3 kitties (lower maintenance than puppies). I have also been a community volunteer for the last 11 years. Smiling and laughing are part of my lifestyle. Quirky might describe my sense of humour.

My undergraduate study was in liberal arts: 2 majors, teaching certification, French as my language. My master's degree is in Information Systems. I am working as a business analyst. Also, since Dec 2008, I have been free-lancing in life science research (disease research, protocol development, and recovery curriculum development). I am thankful for the opportunity to do work that will help kids! (Get me talking about it and I might tear up!) Previously, I was an executive in a high-tech company ... went through executive training ... yada yada yada. MBTI=ENTJ is that matters.

Some call me geek because I have custom-built 3 of the PCs in my house and neighbors and friends call me for PC repair, rescue, and upgrades ... I prefer to think of my PC skills as allowing me to be self-sufficent and help others. I don't do Macs!

Friends describe me as a west-meets-east type of guy. I love Asian wisdom, culture, and food. I cook Chinese, Pilipino, Thai, Indonesian, Indian (Indo-AfPak), and more. I exercise so I can eat! I have a Concept2 rower in my utility room and plan to row 200,000 kms between Thanksgiving and Christmas ... all for a little pin! I've learned enough about Feng Shui for positive home qi/chi ... I REALLY hate moving furniture! (Chinese may get that joke! ^-^)

I am a recovering coffee-aholic ... I have become a tea guy ... studying naturopathy will do that to a guy! ... and I just love pu-erh tea! I do try to balance green and black tea (means 2-fisted tea drinker?^^). Truth be told, I can't do much coffee anymore. I don't ruin tea with additives.

My music tastes are eclectic ... from all over the map. Speaking of the map, my travel destinations have included Canada (Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa), Caribbean (St. Thomas, St. Marten), Brazil (Sao Paulo, not Rio), Portugal, and South Africa (8 way cool months there ... and I loved Durban!).

I find simplicity is elegance, and I continually strive to simplify my life. But no matter how much I try, I cannot simplify this profile! ^-^

I believe that life is about discovering and being ourselves, enjoying the present moment, and extending love, kindness, and compassion as best we can.

I hope to find a woman whose company I enjoy, and she mine, with the hope to build more. Building our future is a process ... and it is one-step at a time: friends, best friends, bf/gf, etc. Mutual respect and communcation are part of that equation. Building one step at a time requires time ... and, although I am a busy person, I have time to share for a special lady. I am a romantic and believe in happy endings!

For me, the first date means conversation to establish a comfort level. Asian food ... or any restaurant I've not been to, coffee/tea/drinks, a walk through a museum or mall, seems best ... really, just anything that lends itself to communication and getting to know each other.
