So... I decided to be on this site because I figured that if I'm making myself available to meet some new guys, I may as well exercise all the venues available to me. Besides, I can't turn down an opportunity to express myself publicly. If anything, I'm just putting it all out there into the ethers... see who turns up...

So, a little about me - I consider myself an artist, because I view life as a medium for self-expression and self-realization and I strive to stay inspired through life, looking at everything as a form of art. I consider all acts of human spirit to be an art-form, such as good communication, thinking of a new way to look at a situation or circumstance, appreciating nature, enjoying a meal, making conscious choices, that sort of thing.

As for other facets of my personality, I'm a free-spirit at heart... I make efforts to maintain my sense of personal freedom and individuality and in respect to others (especially men that I'm dating), I like to respect their need for freedom, space and individuality as well. I promise never to be one of those annoying, nagging women that boss their men around about everything, right down to which color socks he should wear. I want to have a relationship that's based on fun, freedom, true love, and appreciation of what each other has to offer. This goes for all types of relationships - family, friends, encounters with strangers. I say, "live and let live"... on that note, I respect everyone's opinions, beliefs, lifestyles... whatever floats your boat... rock on.

Sooo, as for my taste in men - I like masculine qualities, e.g. decisive, direct, logical, stable, motivated, rational... the subtext here is obviously implying that I, having many feminine qualities, can be at times illogical, irrational, indecisive, indirect, and sometimes overly emotional. While I have these qualities, they don't, in turn, have me. I'm self-aware and a good communicator, it's just that I appreciate a man with opposing qualities to create a healthy balance. So, back to the masculine stuff - no metro-sexuals please.. if you spend more time in the mirror than I do, that just won't fly. Along these lines would include the taking of pictures in your mirror with a cell phone, in which you are attempting to look really serious, with slightly puckered lips and one eye-brow raised... I don't need your "Blue Steel" man, just be yourself. Oh, and if you wear Ed Hardy, I will throw up on you.. ok, here comes my Ed Hardy rant: I recently saw a guy wearing an Ed Hardy shirt that said, "Punk is not dead" and I thought, "Oh really Ed Hardy? Because you're obviously so punk, what with your line of perfume, cell phone cases, bedding, car seat covers, lighters, hand soaps, and clothes with 'Ed Hardy' written in glitter with skulls and crossbones..." Yeah, ever so punk.. nothing says 'badass" like bedazzled clothes. Anyway.... I realize that I live in L.A. and the closest thing to one of those classic, hot, rugged cowboys I'll actually get is a bi-sexual pretty boy who "plays" a cowboy in a Wells Fargo commercial, but still... you get the idea... I'm attracted to simple, kinda rugged, strong men.

It would be especially cool if we shared the same taste in movies and music... I like such a huge variety of music, but mainly, I like blues, rock 'n roll... I guess the litmus test would include appreciating good classic rock like Zeppelin, Neil Young, The Doors, Hendrix, The Who, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Steppenwolf, etc.. I'm also into a lot of classic rock, blues revival like The Black Keys, Richard Swift, Blitzen Trapper.. Aside from the aforementioned, I will always love Ben Harper, Jose Gonzalez, Ray LaMontagne, Mazzy Star, Pearl Jam, Jane's Addiction, The Chili Peppers, Blind Melon, Bon Iver, Otis Redding, Billie Holiday, any Dixieland Jazz... the list could just keep going... I'm also huge into electronic music.
