I’m a single dad first and foremost; I’m always grateful for the time I get to spend with my children. I'm on the floor or in the sand box with them, and I love being part of their imaginative games, reading to them, and of course wiping off the food they left behind on my shirt sleeve when they swooped in for the hug.
As important as my children are to me, I also enjoy being an adult on my own time. I have my own interests, good friends, and a healthy sense of who I am and why I have the values I do.
I'm active and in good shape. I used to run XC/track, and played soccer; I've continued with soccer, and I also bike and swim regularly. My body type has always been more of the lean and tight variety.
I read - as often as possible - for fun or to become better informed about...well, whatever grabs my interest. I grew up overseas, speak French and Spanish fluently and use my languages when travelling. My TV gets no signal, but I do like to watch quality shows that have gone to DVD.
Who I am: is always trying to be a better person, and mostly succeeding. I admit to an occasional cynicism or sarcasm when looking at life, but more often than not I see the absurd or gentle humor in any given situation. I reserve my gentlest, most absurd humor for my kids (and my bemused students.)
I think it makes sense for us to treat others with respect and compassion. I try hard to let go of what's beyond my control in this life. It’s a work in progress, but I see the value in the effort.
I cook, but I enjoy it more if it's a group effort (by "group effort" I mean I'm drinking the wine that the group is cooking with).
It’s easy to get wrapped up in having too many commitments in life. I like to be active, I like to try new things, but above all I like to maintain a healthy balance between my roles as dad, teacher and single guy.
I'm interested in meeting a woman with a similar outlook and values, and hopefully some shared interests. Let me know if that's you!

I like the idea of meeting up somewhere where we can hear each other talk. No pressure, just an oportunity to get to know one another a bit. Once we get a sense of whether or not there's chemistry, we can make figure out what's next.
