Hello!

I've been on this site a few months now and I must say, it's nice to meet so many people. I make a point of responding to almost everyone who writes me, but if I don't, chances are you didn't really tell me much about you. I'm not into staying online... I'd rather meet and see if we hit it off or not. I also like meeting people in general, so meeting a new friend is always gravy to me.

My favorite style of date usually involves a random walk about town, just talking. If we can really exchange ideas, I'm happy. I'll talk about M-theory, favorite books, dancing, the last World Cup match I saw, aspects of martial arts, the last gallery I went to, the last road trip I took, the last movie I saw, what I'm studying, what I'm teaching, and the next concert I want to attend. I have a penchant for asking too many questions, I've been accused of "interviewing" on a first date. It's not meant to pressure, I'm just endlessly fascinated with different points of view.


I'm an ideas kind of girl. Always willing to check out something that's going on, but I have my limits. For example, if you want to show me your collection of heads in the freezer, I will report you to the police. It's just one of those inherent differences in personality I suppose.
Please know I've collected quite a lot of metaphorical t-shirts in the "been there, done that category", and realize that there are some things I just don't find appealing. Like TV Evangelists- not my cup of tea.

I realized that we often don't put our shadow sides on this. We all want to look amazing, but I find the flaws more interesting and more telling of a person. There are two kinds of flaws as well: the 1st layer: the cute and quirky things, and then the deeper layers: sometimes the ones we don't even show to ourselves. That's the most curious of all. That said, if we can't bring our shadows into the light and be honest about it, how can we ever expect to meet someone else? For example, if you are a TV Evangelist, it's probably better you fish for someone who is into that right?

I grab life by the horns and live it to the fullest. I'm up for trying just about anything once, and really that means I can't fit all of me into this little box. You'll just have to bite the bullet and come meet me. Don't be scared- I don't bite. Much *cheeky grins*

If you:
1) Can teach me something new, I find that hugely attractive.
2) Can show me all of you, good bad and ugly, I'll be hugely appreciative.
3) Can pack a light bag and hit the trails, I'll walk with you.
4) Can travel to another country with an open mind, I'm thrilled.
5) Can attend my friend's art shows or performances without grumbling, I'll adore you.
6) Can sing a Karaoke tune and not care how you sound in front of a crowd, I'll praise you.


*HINT* I find intelligence, honesty, and an articulate speaker HUGELY attractive. I kid you not: If Chomksy's brain and Witten's brain got together and had a baby, I'd probably die from lust and never manage to work up the courage to introduce myself. I'm a sucker for someone who can make me laugh, and a devastatingly brilliant smile.

... I can be pretty chill, pretty thrill, and I am all about personal autonomy. I'm getting more serious now that I got to experience dating life again, so I'm looking for someone who is willing to be more than just light fun. It just gets boring after awhile, you know?

I really don't care how far you live... I've lived on the other side of the planet for over 4 years, so the concepts of space and time become more flexible and abstract to me.
I can be surprisingly laid back. I like hearing your ideas. Show me something you'd like to do.
