Love me--love my dogs. I have four of them. And they're big, too--two Irish Setters and two Greyhounds. We walk the beach every Sunday morning. They are great company--uncomplicated and unconditional in their loyalty. I am addicted to travel--mostly overseas. I'm not your typical tourist. Since I take college students to developing countries to work on community projects it's difficult for me to take the tour bus routine. I like to get off the beaten track and really get to know the people and their culture. I don't like confrontation. I love a good sense of humor. I can tolerate fine living but I'm really looking for authenticity. Nothing makes me run faster than passive-aggressive behavior. I'm a talker--straightforward--and I don't read minds. I favor spirited discussion with smart, open-minded people. Finally, I like the kind of adventure that is real, intense and revealing.

Ideally, the day would be crisp and clear. We would take the Mayport ferry across the river then head west to the zoo. We would spend a lot of time watching the monkeys, chimps and great apes. We would oogle the snakes, lizards and the komodo dragons. We'd eat the largest size of lime flavored shaved ice and fork over the extra bucks to hand-feed the sting rays. We would definitely admire the jaguars and the red wolves. And I would be green with envy over those luscious brown eyes all giraffes are equipped with--those big, round, luminous eyes trimmed with the longest eyelashes in the universe.
