I'm a former art teacher who now creates my own art in clay and sometimes paints. What inspires me is a love of nature, especially the sea, plant life and small found treasures like rocks and shells. Also, I love animals, wild and domestic, and have a soft spot for frogs(toads?)and big fuzzy bumble bees, besides a few others. I'll save those stories for now. Science cannot explain away how miraculous this planet is, or how beautiful. I want to keep learning, asking question, seeking answers, and rediscovering things my heart once knew but had forgotten. It can take your breath away.
It follows that reading is also a passion. Usually i'm involved in 2-3 books, mostly non-fiction on many topics that interest me. My biggest frustration is not being able to read fast enough to get it all in. I'm open minded and like to know others' points of view on health, science, spirituality or how to make the perfect pineapple-upside-down cake. And, of course, I enjoy the profiles on match.com.
Recently, after taking care of my Mom for several months, I started a fitness program. I'd like to be healthier than our parents' generation and keep going strong for the rest of my life.
Some of my interests are lone pursuits, but I still have time to enjoy the people and pets in my life. I like the beach, traveling, boating, gardening, going to dinner, cooking in, shopping, listening to music or just hanging around together. I've got a good sense of humor and can laugh at myself.
What's missing in my life, though, is the one special person to share all of this with, and then some. I'd like to meet a man who shares some of my interests, yet has a few of his own to keep things interesting. In a great relationship, two people are friends, companions, teammates and confidantes. We'd support each other's dreams, quell the fears, be comfortable enough together to talk about anything, show affection, see the beauty inside and out, feed each other's creativity and love each other for who we are.
