About Me
I am still relatively new to Maryland and I haven't met many people outside of work. So, here I am.
I am a singer/songwriter, photographer, graphic designer, filmmaker, and writer. I know what you are thinking: "Oh, he seems artistic, he must not have a job." However, I *am* employed as a professional writer and graphic designer, so take that! :)
I am looking for friends-only relationships at the moment. This could include photography day trips (hiking!), listening to live music, or simply hanging out at the local dive and talking about low budget horror flicks. I should warn you, though, that I am incredibly goofy and may suddenly start singing lounge versions of 80s songs. After a couple of beers I may start with the Bruce Campbell stuff. Groovy! God forbid the Swedish Chef makes an appearance...
So what else is there? I seem to have lost the plot.
Some random facts:
- I passed out in a London pub and woke up in a dark alley - I walked for miles along Irish backroads past castles and leprechauns - I slept on the beach on Mykonos and rode in the back of a fisherman's tractor in Paros - I stood on a balcony during an earthquake in Athens - I saw a deer bounding through the fields at Auschwitz-Birkenau - I lost the phone number of a red-haired girl in Dublin - I was searched at gunpoint in Slovenia - I ate the mystery burger in Poland - I spoke German in France while the Swedes slept with the window open on a frigid night - I rubbed soil between my fingers in Pompeii - I climbed to the top of a sun temple in Mexico - I wrote a song that broke a girl's heart - I threaded a needle on a windy day for an elderly woman on Santorini - I laughed at the traffic lights without power in Naples - I direct movies in my head - I touched an electrified fence in Switzerland after eating an entire Toblerone - I swam in a hidden bay by moonlight - I sang songs for the locals in Munich during Octoberfest - I took a nap along the Danube - I was momentarily lost in the maze at Hampton Court - I bought pebbles from poor children near Terlingua - I paid too much for gas at the "Last Chance for Gas" place in the desert in Arizona - I thought the Grand Canyon more majestic in person than in any photo - I nearly froze to death by a pier in Calais - I looked at girlie magazines in Prague - I woke up to see my tent surrounded by Elk at Grand Teton National Park - I fell in love with the right girl at the wrong time
... to be continued
Well anyway, I spend most of my free time these days writing/recording my music. I'm not sure why I do it, but I do know this: I *must* do it. However, after a long session it's nice to be able to associate with humans again. So, that's where you come in!
* "Quickly connected, half burned" is a Swedish idiom which means, "If you build it fast you should expect it to fail." Admit it - you were curious!
Nov 29 Addendum:
If you are musically inclined - songwriting or singing - drop me a line. I've written a couple of song ideas that, in my opinion, would work best with female vocals. Alternatively, I wouldn't mind collaborating on an original song. As a point of reference, my stuff is somewhat similar to Neil Finn/Coldplay/Elbow/Keane/Peter Gabriel. If you're a guy and you think this appeals to you, please don't hesitate to contact me.
December 9 Addendum:
Oh look, a haiku:
Wrote a clever note Which she trashed without reading Damn, now I am pissed!
