About Me
Hobbies: as mentioned in "Interests". Also, and to elaborate, water holds much interest for me. I'm a scuba diver, sailor, fisherman, and just a lover of water sports, including romantic ones. I have the car I wished I'd had in high school. I love driving it, keeping it in good condition, and reliving my dating days in my best friend's '65 Mustang. If I had more time, I'd resume my stained-glass art work. New experiences fascinate me.
Goals/aspirations: I want to move to Northwest Florida ("the Panhandle"; "the Redneck Riviera") somewhere between Pensacola and Panama City and pursue my profession in computer applications programming. Whether it be with a lady from the St. Louis area or from the Panhandle, I want to resume the experiences of dating a woman who enjoys all of the pleasures that life has to offer. (If I don't raise my arms, I can scratch a back or massage a whole body for an hour or more.)
Me: I'm very intelligent and fairly observant. With a little courage, I can detect and correct any misunderstandings, disappointments, or disputes, given a little cooperation. I'm very easy to get along with unless you're threatened by an outstanding, empathetic man.
Music: I'm rooted in the late '50s to mid-'70s rock oldies, but I have preferences in most types of music; e.g., I'm not a jazz fan, but I love Dave Brubeck's "Take Five". I love dancing to Latin/salsa music; I just need to learn the Latin dance steps better. I'm not yet into swing, line, or country steps; but the stationary cha-cha is tied for my favorite with free-style rock with some disco overtones.
As for favorite artists, that list would include the Eagles, the Beach Boys, the Four Seasons, Johnny Mathis, Tim McGraw...that list isn't all-inclusive by a long shot, but it includes artists who've batted over .500 with me.
First Date
I'd start by asking my date what she most likes to do (besides THAT), then select something that I know I could get into. Somewhere in the schedule, I'd find time for a meal or a snack, thereby finding time to learn more about what she wants out of life. I'd try to find something from her answer to finish the date with. If all seemed to work for us, I'd ask her for another date with her preferences in mind again.
At some point, I'd try to work in an experience of the marvels of this world and this universe around us--maybe just enjoying a sunset over a beautiful landscape, such as the aptly named Sunset Hills (for maximum effect, I'd try to find a way into an upper floor of a building on Watson Road by I-44--like the one in which I once worked and wished I had someone special to appreciate the sunsets over the hills with)...or maybe an afternoon in Tower Grove Park among the Greek revival places that are so much like those in City Park in New Orleans, with ducks and sometimes swans present.
