My name is Jim and I moved to Los Angeles from the Bay Area about 7 years ago. I'm a telecommunications engineer by trade and make a pretty decent living. I aspire to own and operate my own business and I've recently been given my first US trademark for a logo I created for another company (I think this is cool, others might find it boring though, lol.)

I consider myself creative and I’m always building or learning things. This week, I’m trying to build a portable shower for the business market. It’s a top secret project until I submit the patents, but if you promise not to tell anyone I’ll talk to you about it =)

I like just about all physical activities, sports, hiking (a really cool place to hike is Pacific Palisades), the gym, and one day I would like to learn how to kayak.

I’m attracted to girls with nice smiles because it makes me want to work hard to keep them smiling. I find the closer you are to Hollywood the more wishy-washy and flaky the women get as if that’s the normal way to treat people. Plus, I’m more of a “real guy” and not one of those wussy guys or metro-sexuals. I try to stay 10 miles away from Hollywood girls unless they have a really, really, good smile.

If you’ve read this far please let me just apologize to all of the women out there in PoF land. I started using this website a few years ago and the few dates I've been on were very enjoyable. I still haven’t found “the one” and I’m not sure if I will by using online dating, but my time on here has been encouraging. However, it was interesting to hear from the women I dated how horrible online dating was for them. It seems that there are a lot of jerks out there. I didn't really understand what they meant until I asked my hesitant female friend to sign up with PoF and see what they were talking about.

All I can say is "Wow!"

My friend is an attractive thirty-two year old woman who only put up a few pics and absolutely no information about her what's so ever. No interests, no description, nothing...and yet guys were complimenting her on her profile when there was nothing, just her pics. They kept calling her "baby" and other things, leaving their phone numbers and typing massive sexual innuendo's. Needless to say, she didn't respond to a single message. I felt so bad for her and understand why she doesn't internet date.

I would do just about anything on first except one thing. However, if I'm going to take the time to meet someone I would like to at least have a good meal or a drink or two, I'm not a coffee drinker, sorry =(
