About me: My friends say I'm funny, respectful, creative, intelligent, and dependable. I would also add that I'm honest, affectionate, confident, and laid back. I'm well-traveled, well-read, and responsible. I'm 5'6", crew-cut blond hair, and an athletic build. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from LSU, but am working outside of my field right now. I work hard and enjoy my job.

I've traveled quite a bit, and have a variety of interests. I love photography, sailing, camping, and traveling. Most weekends will find me at the beach or otherwise outside, reading, and enjoying the sun and water. I also like to spend weekends down in the Keys, so it would be nice if your weekends are pretty open. I'm solar-powered and very active.

I was divorced 11 years ago, after 7 years together. I can't think of any "baggage" that I have, as I don't have any ex's or other people "haunting" me from the past. As much as I love children, I've never had any. Likewise, I love animals of all kinds, but don't have any out of fairness to the animals. I'm not able to spend what I think would be a fair amount of time with them.

I don't have jealousy issues, so if you have an ex that you've remained friends with, even if it's just for the kids, I'm supportive in that. If you do have children, I also understand that they'll always come first. That's the way it should be. :) I've always gotten along very well with kids, of any age.

I've twice taken sabbaticals and gone sailing. The first was about a year long, where I bought a boat in Mississippi and went to the Bahamas. The second was purchased in central Florida and ended up in Key West, where I lived on it for a bit while working.

About you: I'm looking for my best friend. I can't think of another way to describe it. I believe that the best relationship is with the person you'd consider to be your best friend. The person you can tell anything to, and know that you're going to get their support and understanding. A best friend that will stand up to the world for you, even when you're wrong. She should be intelligent, have a great sense of humor, be a little laid back, and know what's truly important in life. Drama is for television. Real life is about facing life as a team and finding happiness in what you have.

I believe in romance, and don't "date around". If I'm dating someone, I don't date anybody else. If someone is willing to see if I'm the right person for them, they deserve all of my attention and effort. I'm very optimistic, and am usually able to see the humor in any situation.

Anything where we could talk and get to know each other. Lunch, dinner, it's not important! :)
