I'm a sociable nerd/geek who is looking for someone to hang out and have fun with, who hopefully shares some of my interests. I don't care for the mind games that typically become part of the whole dating process, so I prefer to start things off casual and see where they go. I'm not too shy to approach girls, but it's always awesome when a girl is bold enough to approach me.

On a typical Friday night I'll be doing something with a small group of friends, either playing board games, going to see a band play, going to see a movie or at somebody's house watching DVDs, going to a comedy club, or at a party. I'll go into clubs, but they're typically not my thing, so I don't usually go unless there's a particular reason (i. e. a band I want to see). I don't drink but I'm okay with people who do as long as they don't go overboard. I often prefer quiet, intimate environments that are conducive to conversation over loud and wild venues. I like to explore the city, and it's more fun when you have someone to do that with.

I write for a humor website so a good sense of humor is a must.

I LOVE music and don't understand people who don't. My favorite genres are indie rock and old school punk rock, but I like something from just about every genre. Some of my favorites are Tom Waits, the Pixies, Johnny Cash, The Cure, the Ramones, the Clash, Bad Religion, the Smiths, etc, etc. I'm also real big on watching movies and I will see most things in the theater if they really interest me. Nothing beats seeing something on the big screen.

I'm looking for a girl who's not afraid to be herself, who doesn't have to impress anybody, and is comfortable with who she is. Who isn't afraid to geek out and gush over something she's interested in and passionate about. I'm looking for someone I really "click" with and feel a connection to.

I'm one of those people who kind of feels that first dates shouldn't last too long. Just enough to talk for a while and determine if there's any kind of connection or mutual interest. First meetings always tend to have SOME awkwardness, and second dates always seem a little more at ease. So my ideal first date involves a good meal, a couple hours of conversation, and then maybe a short walk afterward.
