| | I can't believe I'm actually STARTING my profile with this, but I am gingerly dipping a toe back in the dating scene after a 10 year (!) absence - man, does that make me feel old. As I haven't been single since the 90's (again - !!!), this is also my first foray into 'internet dating services,' so I'm curious but also a bit daunted putting all this personal info out here.
So what do you need to know about me? Culture-wise, I love comedy (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Patton Oswalt, Louis C.K.) and I love to laugh. Seriously. Someone who can make me laugh is pure gold in my books. I'm also a HUGE fan of Canadian indie music (Joel Plaskett, Feist, Great Lake Swimmers, etc). My work involves music and the internet, so I spend a fair bit of time online, listening to tunes, or out at shows. And while I do enjoy a good movie or TV show, I don't actually watch that much, with the exceptions of Mad Men, Curb, 30 Rock, Weeds, and Dexter.
I also love the outdoors and use every chance I get to take my dog - an Eskipoo (cutest dog EVER) - to Spanish Banks for a walk on the beach or a stroll along the seawall. I think Vancouver is pretty much the greatest city on earth and I try to explore new areas of the city and the surrounding areas whenever possible.
What else? I love to take photos, play golf, tennis, and volleyball, enjoy snowboarding, and - my snobby little secret - I can't survive without a fancy-pants coffee from Artigiano or JJ Bean every morning.
Most of all, I LOVE my two kids - they're the joy of my life.
I'm excited to be on my own again and looking forward to meeting some smart, interesting, funny women! |

I really like getting to know someone new by doing something where we can both talk and have a decent conversation, so concerts, movies, and shows aren't ideal for me as a first date option. Otherwise, anything from coffee, to a walk on the beach, to a couple of drinks somewhere quiet are pretty good! |
