I have been passionate about the outdoors and bicycling (since 1975) and would say they are my religion referring to the spirituality I feel from them.
Music is another passion of mine. I enjoy folk, roots, country, rock, pop, jazz, world, blues, R&B/motown, selected rap & hip hop, metal, classical, and even good elevator tunes.
I'm an easy going guy who prefers a woman's company over a guy,except when it comes to spectator sports. Most women just don't get it.
I have the ability to listen and not offer advice or solutions. I'm compassionate, old fashioned, big heart. I enjoy cooking, take on day to day household chores, lots of stuff most men, especially my generation and older traditionally shun.
These are few things that I believe make me unique.

Probably take you cycling up the Saanich peninsula towards Schwartz Bay or the Metchosin/Sooke area and back. If you want to meet for a second time then I'll know you are certifiable.
Seriously though, I have done that to a few 'first dates' back in Calgary, nearly killing them both in the process. They were good sports about it, trying to make a good first impression. Women really are crazy sometimes. They came back for more too.
A simple meeting over a hot or cold drink will usually give you the chance to meet and see if you want to extend the date or run out the nearest exit.
With the Winter Olympics approaching, the ultimate first date would have to be attending the Gold Medal Mens' or Womens' Hockey game in Vancouver together and cheering Canada on to victory. Unfortunately getting a ticket is pretty well impossible, akin to getting a ticket to see the Chippendale Male Dance Revue on an Island of Amazon women.
