I love the simple things in life. I am very honest and generally say what's on my mind (but would never intentionally say anything cruel to ANYONE). The beauty of getting older is the wisdom, patience, maturity, and tolerance that you gain while doing it! I am confident, self reliant, capable, and independent.
I am compassionate almost to the extreme. I love animals, but dogs are my all-time favorites! I am of at least average intelligence, I have a good sense of humor and don't take myself too seriously. I can easily laugh at myself. One of the most important things I’m looking for in you is a great sense of humor.
I’m most comfortable in jeans/shorts, and a t shirt but I clean up pretty good and am in fine shape for my age.
I am loyal to a fault and if I cared once, I care forever. My compassion and understanding will always come before some sort of ego-filled, self-serving need or want.
I am a VERY long way from perfect, but have lots of good qualities. I guess you could call me old fashion in my thoughts, values, and morals, although I am a far cry from being a stick in the mud I do believe in having good manners.
I love the outdoors, from the mountains to the beach. I like working in my garden and playing with my dog. I love to travel. I like to read,(my kids hated it when I would drag them to the library.) I don't like arguing, or fighting, or anything that promotes them.
I'm the kind of lady who could replace a muffler on the car, cook a good meal, keep a clean home, embroider, sew and crochet. I know how to can food and make jelly. I can put up a fence and fix most anything, (having lived on a farm this was a requirement.) Going out and having fun is great, but I tend to be more of a homebody, spending time with a special person in my life doing whatever tends to make us happy means more than being surrounded by a lot of people.
I can run a blender and a chain saw. I can be strong as an oak tree or soft as a kitten.
I'm a low maintenance kind of lady, pick some flowers from a field, or from the yard for me… that would mean a lot more than a dozen roses you could buy, (hint, daffodils are my favorite,) I love fresh flowers on the table and if you couldn’t find any I wouldn’t turn down store bought ones.
One of my favorite quotes by an unknown author is…. "Work like you don't need the money, dance like no one is watching, and love like you’ve never been hurt!"
My favorite music is 50-60 oldies but I like lots of different types of music. I enjoy going to the symphony, or a concert, (classical, country, and rock,) and to the ballet. I guess it depends on my mood and what my soul needs to hear that day, be it bluegrass to Mozart and Andrea Bocelli, country to Pavarotti. One thing I think everyone should do is to dance to the music in their soul.
I like to dance, old fashion courting, and romance, flowers for no reason and a monogamous relationship if we would find we couldn’t live without each other . Family and family ties are very important to me, having deep roots, with many branches that reach out into my in law kids and their families mean a lot to me, if in time I find someone to share life with, I would hope that we would share a blended family together.

After chatting on the phone, I think a first meeting should be very casual, a cup of coffee, but I'm easy to get along with and open to suggestions.
