What would i like to do for a first date? I think first dates sort of set the tone for how your relationship will be. I like an old fshioned approach where the gentleman arrives on time to pick up the lady, flowers are optional, opening doors, and good manners are expected. It is nice for the guy to suggest the place to eat making sure the date agrees. Good conversation, good meal, nice walk around the park, drive through the country, going out to meet friends later, or staying at home snuggling on couch talking, or watching a movie is nice. I am very low maint. but I do like nice things as well.
