I guess to start I would say I am a father first. My children are my life. My job allows me the chances to do a lot of things alot people can't with there children. Like being able to coach and be at school functions. I am a walking oximoron. I like schedules, but don't like to be confined to them. I like to be spontanious and shoot from the hip... alot. Rules are good but guidelines are better. Anybody can follow rules. To use guidelines correctly, you have to be creative and use your imagination. I am truly a hopeless romantic and enjoy letting that special person know that I care. Sometimes, in very romantic and unusual ways. I don't mean embarrassing ways. I am very outgoing at social events but it takes a little time for me to get to that point. I do not need to be the center of attention when I am out. There are enough people out there that can fill that spot. I like to sit back,watch, and react to my surroundings.
I would like to meet someone that is rooted in who she is. Not bringing in a lot of hang-ups. Please do not even wink in my direction if you are recently divorced or just broke up with your longtime boyfriend within the past 2 days. I am not looking to be "next". I hope you are physically active or at least can be at times. I love someone that likes to "play" outdoors. You must LOVE kids. I think that statement is pretty clear. You should also not be one of those that can't, on a whim, go grab a movie, without "puting your face on". If I don't care what you look like, then why should you care what a kid at the ticket counter thinks? I know, I know, it's a woman thing. :) I'll give you an hours notice when I'm going to "shoot from the hip" ;)
I have a cat. That does not mean I am a sissy. My son got him for me a few years ago. I left the door open a couple of times, but he wouldn't run away. Now I have gotten used to him and he has turned out to be pretty cool.
I would like to bring this up again. I am a father. Not every other weekend or only when they are with me. ALWAYS. When I not with them I am still a dad. If you think I am going to put them on the back burner, forget it. They are growing and starting to experience new things, so I am doing the same. Match for instance.
I have been asked "so what have you been doing for the past 10 years?" Well, being a dad and waiting for the right time. Now is the time. Don't think I was a hermit. I have dated, know how to use silverware and actually clean up pretty nice(so I have been told). It just was not a priority in the past.
Something you will learn real quick, I am not one for typing. I want to get to the phone quick. I want to hear your voice, your laugh and know if we can carry on a conversation. I think we will be able to tell if we want to meet in person. If we do meet..... you better be the person in the picture.
Last but not least. If I wink at you or attempt to write. It is because I read your profile...entirely. Not because you posted 80 pictures of yourself in a bathing suit. If you did, chances are you are not still reading this anyway.
Physical attraction is important but not what is going to keep me interested when you are 70. It's what we build together that lasts forever. Trust, honesty and communication. Don't let the 70 yr. old part scare you... I will still chase you around the table. I just might be slower.
