I just moved out here to Monterey from the east coast. Started on my masters degree last month, and am still settling into a new routine in a new city.

I love the outdoors. My idea of a perfect weekend is to throw on my backpack and head out into the backcountry. I'll usually have my camera with me. I'm not Ansel Adams, but every once in a while I'll take a pretty good photo. Aside from that, I have a wide range of interests, and I’m constantly trying new things.

I'm laid back, type-B, and a bit introverted. I'm just as happy curled up in my chair with a book or going for a long drive by myself as I am going out with a group of friends. I tend to not make concrete plans, at least for the weekend.

I've been wanting to find some local mountain bike trails. We could go out exploring, maybe bring a light picnic lunch, maybe get a bit lost and find our way again.

...on second thought (after going for a mountain bike ride) maybe that wouldn't be the best first date - wouldn't be able to talk and get to know each other. Going for a hike with the picnic lunch, or maybe just the picnic, would probably work better.
