About Me
Hello! I joined this site about a week ago. A friend of mine met someone through here, so I thought I'd have a look.
I'm 26 and live near Fareham at the moment. I moved here from London over a year ago for a job as a researcher in the civil service. The job isn't really what I want to do, but it allows me to rent a nice place and have a nice car to burn around in. I'm thinking of ditching it in the near future to do a PhD in psychology - I already have a degree and masters in it, so it makes sense to continue on to the next level. I'd also much rather work in psychological research or practice than what I'm doing at the moment! I'm not particularly keen on giving up my new found independence (flat, car, etc) to move into student accommodation though!
I have quite a range of interests, from watching films and stand-up comedy, to gym and sport, through to more 'intellectual' stuff like politics, philosophy, and psychology. I'm really into music - I listen to it pretty much everywhere... in the car, at my desk at work, at home, at the gym! My taste in music is fairly varied, but I mostly listen to either progressive house or metal. Bit of an odd combo, right? But hey, I like it. I used to go clubbing quite a bit for the house music, but I'm not that keen on clubs anymore (a bit too seedy, and way too many fools on drugs) - I prefer pubs, bars, and comedy clubs these days.
I don't watch much TV, but if I do it tends to be some sort of comedy: Live at the Apollo, Peep Show, re-runs of Alan Partridge (I know far too many Partridge lines off by heart, it's not healthy!). I admit to liking some American sitcoms too - Frasier and King of Queens mostly. I try to go to see live comedy when I can. I've recently seen Ross Noble, Tim Vine, Robin Ince, Steve Coogan, and Richard Herring, but need to get around to seeing Jimmy Carr, Jack Dee, and Michael Macintyre at some point. Laughing is great, and it's best not to take things too seriously when possible!
In my spare time, I work for 63336. Text any question to that number and see what happens, it's fun!
In terms of what I'm looking for... It'd be nice to meet someone who is intelligent, interesting, reasonably attractive (hehe!) and perhaps shares some interests. Non-smoker and vegetarian would be a bonus, but not essential!
As this is already quite long, I'll end it here! If you want to talk, just say hi!
