Hi.. I'm a 42 year old male working in DC and living in Maryland. I've been in this area for almost 20 years and am familiar with the VA side as well as the MD side. Both States have their pluses and minuses. For activities I really like to cycle and will travel about once a year to do so. Some of my next rides I'm looking at for 2010 are the Bon Ton Roulette in the Finger Lakes region of NY, and maybe the trail system from Pittsburgh to DC. I have also recently started geocaching and find that interesting and will probably use it as a winter hobby. I am pretty much independent but allways willing to listen, strong but know when to be weak, and am a good friend to a select few people. I'd like to state what I am looking for.. but I don't really have a type, with the exception that I tend to do well with upbeat bubbly personalites as my empathy tends to make me adjust to the personality of whovever I am dating.. so if you are a downer.. don't look here.. We'd just be two downers after a while..! I cook, can fix things and am pretty self-sufficient. I have a very good support network with my family and friends.. (but, to be honest, most of my friends have recently married and/or moved from the area..) For now I am uploading a photo from a couple of monts ago when I was visiting part of my family in CT.. I will add more in the next month..

For me a first date is usually best as a lunch or just meeting for a drink.. (my treat of course).. I don't have problems going to VA even though I live in MD, I may actually end up moving back to the VA side in the next few years for a couple of reasons...
