Well, first off, when I go on a date with someone from the internet, I tend to keep an open mind and look at it as a chance for a new friend and if more comes out of it then so be it. I tend to talk to people before evening going out on a first date, so the first date for me usually is actually meeting the person and we have already talked about everything else on the phone prior to meeting. I believe if you can't have good conversation on the phone or through email then when you meet you probably won't have good conversation either. I like to talk to someone for a little while before deciding if I want to meet them or not. I have met several people over the internet over the years and some are my best friends now. I believe you have to keep an open mind or you may get disappointed. I have met a few people off here and let's just say it has been interesting and I am starting to think I am getting too old for this. Most first dates you go out to eat and then decide what to do next from there if dinner went well.... if dinner didn't go so hot, sometimes you call it quits right then. I am a strong believer of being honest and don't beat around the bush, if it isn't working why waste someones time.
