About Me
I am a 37 year old English teacher/professor (a little of one, more of the other)--I work a great deal, both as a teacher, an academic competition coach and a soccer coach for my kids, so I enjoy everything that allows me to relish in relaxation: being outside, biking and running, reading, movies and going out for drinks. I'm attracted to women in their late 20s and 30s who are self-reliant professionals (or professionals to be---there are many paths...), who enjoy intelligent conversation paired with mindless recreation, most likely fueled by a drink or two. I work hard and have two beautiful girls that take up some of my time. I have the benefit of both youth and age--a mix of maturity and understanding, vitality and vigor--I get what makes a successful relationship and I'm still young enough to keep looking for fun and excitement. ... Let me add this just for fun...I do not consider the first five dates to be a serious relationship "trial period" subscription after which you either keep the relationship or return it for a full refund. The most ubiquitous concept in profiles is the unending search for the one, for a long term, forever relationship--and I get this--it's in your XX DNA. Regardless of my Y chromosome, I have a similar end-game. However, every time I've gone on multiple dates with a woman and they've ended the contact, it is because we didn't fall madly in love with one another instantaneously. I am not going to fall madly in love with you in five dates. I have the capacity for affection, intimacy and loyalty, but I'm not auditioning you to be my next wife--I'm working under the assumption that any real process of "falling in love" will take more than the first five dates (if you can tell earlier, please let me know...get the hell out or propose right away!). I'm sure as hell not going to plot it out, so instead we're going to have as much fun as humanly possible and enjoy each other's company...
First Date
Go out for sushi and drinks, play some darts or pool and drink some beers, listen to some music--anything relaxing that gives us something to do while we talk. To hell with coffee and "getting to know each other"--I won't know a thing about you after one day. And if I think I do, I could still be tragically wrong.
Instead lets have a drink, flirt, play some darts, make fun of each other, walk around or listen to a band--lets have fun and see if we're just attracted to each other. I'll look tall, handsome and make you laugh, so my side will be covered. What will you bring to the table?
