New to this internet dating/long term relationship thing, my divorce was finalized last year. I have grown as a person and realize that I must make the best of the time that I have left.

I am a happy healthy independent woman who enjoys my family.(4 adult children and 4 beautiful young grandchildren....a 5th one due Jan. 2010) They are a very important part of my life; I do not know what I would do without them.

I would like to find a companion to share interests with. Some of the above would be nice, however I am open to discovering new ones as well.

I am an honest, open, considerate, caring and loving person, who tends to be on the reserved side until I get to know someone better. I have a good sense of humour and am a good listener. I am a romantic at heart, love hugs & kisses and am not shy to hold hands and show affection in public when the feeling is right.

I am looking for a dating companion to begin, with hopes of a long term relationship eventually, someone who does not smoke, who enjoys life, who is respectful, caring,romantic and fun to be with. I enjoy all types of music.(60,70,80's etc, easy listening, some rock, some country, some classical, even some jazz and blues! just not into rap. Although I have no musical talent, I am in awe of those who do.

A very casual first meeting would be most comfortable for me.......a coffee and walk along the pier at Port Dalhouse, Welland canal, or even Van Wagner's beach in Hamilton? Just last weekend I discovered Hamilton's Bayfront park and found it was an amazing area to explore. (Hoping we can chat a bit, talk on the phone, and get to know one another a little before meeting.)
