I'm new to the online dating thing. I'm currently in grad school at UW. I enjoy music, politics, reading, biking, and taking long walks. My favorite music is progressive rock and jazz, with a good amount of classic rock, alternative rock, metal, and weird, experimental stuff too. I play guitar as well. I would describe myself as a freethinker, non-conformist and someone who enjoys shunning the mainstream. I like philosophy as well, especially reading Nietzsche. I'm really shy and known to be the quiet one in groups, except when I'm with people I know really well.

I'm looking for a girl who wants to meet for friendship or dating or some other kind of relationship. In terms of looks I'm looking for someone shorter than me, and personality-wise I'm into the more artsy, introverted types. While that's my main preference, I'm open to meeting other types too. Ideally, I'd like someone who has an open mind about unconventional opinions on life whether in music, politics, philosophy, etc. and maybe enjoys some intellectual conversation now and then.
