I’m hoping to meet a very bright, articulate, down-to-earth, and slightly crazy guy with a great sense of humor who really clicks with me. It would be wonderful to find someone who might share some of my offbeat interests in music, cinema, literature, and humor. I'm a former classical violinist although I don't often listen to/perform classical music anymore - my tastes in films aren't as adventerous as my musical interests but I pride myself on my modest collection of some of the world's worst films and would enjoy sharing them with someone who gets the humor associated with these "gems."

My sense of humor is a mix of absurd, irreverent, and a little raunchy. I'm also very introspective and analytical and I place a high premium on good communication skills. I'm a bit reserved but not anti-social, told I have a quick wit, and am very compassionate and supportive of the people that I love.

I hope to retire fairly soon and would like to indulge in a little traveling and other interests when that time comes. It would be a real bonus to have a traveling companion – in past trips, I’ve visited Mexico, the Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, Chile, and the Yucatan Peninsula. It would be a real pleasure to share traveling experiences and much more with someone who is really compatible with me. (I have somewhat of a preference for younger men but a youthful attitude is MUCH more important than your actual age.)

So if you're a bit of a non-conformist, are very articulate, have an irreverent sense of humor, and are trim (a few extra pounds is no big deal), I'd enjoy hearing from you. Musicians, writers, poets, composers, actors, and other artsy types particularly encouraged. Let's start out simple, have some fun, and see where it takes us ...

A first date is just a test run and should be casual, inexpensive, and unelaborate. I'm not particular about the activity as long as it gives us an opportunity to talk and get to know one another. If we click, the possibilities for a second date are practically endless (a movie, concert, a long walk in Old Sacramento or a nature area, art exhibition ... ?)
