I don't think we are ever too old to believe on our dreams and to strive to make them come true. I am well on my way to seeing my dreams come true. I have a job that I truly enjoy. I have a wonderful family and great friends. I just started back to school to work on my PhD. in Education. I love living in Reston. And, I have two of the most adorable dogs on earth!

That said one part of my dream is missing. I would love to have someone to share it with. I am extremely happy with my life, but I know that I want a family of my own some day. I am ready to find the person to be a part of that. I'm not saying I want to have babies tomorrow or anything, but I don't want to waste my time with someone who has totally different intentions.

I have been single for awhile because I am picky. I am picky because I have had the fortune (or misfortune) of repeatedly finding out first-hand the kind of person I do not want to spend my time with. I am really not asking for a lot in a partner. I just want an honest, caring person that wants to be with me and isn't intimated by a woman that has her life together.

If lying, cheating, or playing games are part of your dating agenda, please don't bother with me. If you wouldn't say "hi" to me if you saw me walking down the street I'd also rather you find someone else. I am looking for a confident, motivated, and honest person who, like me, is just not having the best luck meeting a good match.

I'm not sure if my description makes me sound jaded or not. I really am a lot of fun, have a great sense of humor, and enjoy doing lots of different things. I am just ready for the right person to be in my life and honestly, I don't really enjoy sifting through the wrong ones to find what I am looking for.

My idea of a first date with someone I have never met is simple, dinner and/or drinks. I have done online dating before and I am not comfortable with much more in case one of us is not feeling it. If everything goes well on the first date, then we can talk about what would be fun to do on the next time.
