Well, I think movies are a bad idea, unless they come after something that allows you talk first. I've found that going out and playing pool or doing something interactive but not TOO competitive is usually a good idea. And I don't know about you, but lunch dates seem to be too casual for a first date, so I like to reserve a first date for evenings.
