While I'm lucky enough to have a career I enjoy, I prefer not to let my work define me. I read a lot, across a wide spectrum of genres. I enjoy listening to and playing live music. I have been in several local bands since 2003, and dedicate several hours a week to rehersing and playing out in clubs. I also journal every day, and have written for publication in the past (though only on a small scale). I'm still thinking about what I want to be when I grow up.

My sense of humor tends to be dry and sarcastic, though I'm prone to fits of goofiness at times. I take good care of myself, and expect a partner who does the same. I value honesty and openness, humor and beauty. Who doesn't?

I have a wonderful life, and I want someone to share it with. I'm looking for a woman who I can connect with intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically - in that order. While I'm a romantic at heart, I've learned that being swept off my feet often ends with me knocked on my a**. So I'm looking for a female best friend to fall in love with. Is that so much to ask?

I think a good first date would be to meet for coffee someplace quite - like a cafe or even a bookstore - where we could talk and get to know each other. If the conversation is good, and the connection is mutual, then dinner in a casual setting seems like the next step. Good conversation and an intellectual connection is very important to me.
