About Me
...you'll always get what you've always gotten. I've learned a few lessons out here while experiencing 'Advanced Adulthood Dating '. The main thing is that it's tougher than most people think, both in practice as well as experience. The second thing is that you really can't judge books by their covers. People are pretty unique and surprising. What you CAN do, however, is look for common interests and shared passions plus feel out a sense of humor. If you think about it, those are the things that keep us together with friends for years. Why should romantic relationships be any different? Attraction and chemistry are certainly important. But, those things can be evolutionary as well as immediate. Other things that are important are honesty, integrity and not living in your parents' basement.
Some words that describe me: adventurous, strong, creative, outdoorsy, romantic, independent, blackpowder deerhunter :-) (no joke), honest, kind, tall, family oriented, silly/sassy, maternal, successful and juuust a little bit naughty. I am a good woman with a strong sense of right and wrong. I've also got a bit of a smartypants side that has been my undoing once or twice in email or IM. I am fair however. I do enjoy getting as good as I give ;-)
I am one of those women who, I guess, really does not NEED a man. Yes, I do know that points get taken away for that as well as for one of my posted photos. But, I think points should be awarded back because I am fully aware that I definitely WANT someone to share all the times (anywhere inside the spectrum) with, as well as for not being helpless. I'm completely independent, which means I am busy. But, I am here because I want to share my time with someone special. Working out the logistics should be a mutual endeavor.
Do I want to follow you on all your guy-fun weekends? Nope. I like to have plenty of girl-fun too. But, I just might bring back a bigger deer from my weekend out in the woods than you come November (probably not, but it is fun to poke). I'd really like to meet a man who understands and enjoys the fun in that, and who might want to share those times together. I've got a pretty colorful background, in terms of life experiences, and have visited some places that most people don't get to see. One former profession was as a TV News Photographer. Media credentials were lots of fun :-) There are plenty more places/things on my list (Alaska, cruises, zip-lining, mountain hikes). But, there's not nearly as much fun in doing those things solo. Maybe you've got an adventurous spirit as well?
Hmmm. I have a tendency to get wordy, so I am going to sit on my hands now and make myself stop typing. Drop me a line if you feel we've got mutual bullseyes. If not, I wish you good luck in your search!
First Date
A first date (which is not the same as a 'meet') for me could run the gamut from dinner and conversation to canoeing a nearby river to investigating an antique mall to ice skating or the driving range... I'd prefer to DO something together than hole up at a table or a bar. But, it really does differ from person to person (and according to busy schedules or other logistical roadblocks). In any date with activity, there is always plenty of capability to just stop, sit and converse if the googly-eyes come down hard upon us :-D
