Hi there! I'm a Ph.D. student who enjoys taking breaks from long days spent reading and writing by hanging out with my brothers and friends at bars/lounges, going to the movies, and checking out new restaurants. The Gold Room in Echo Park and the Well in Hollywood are two of my favorite places to chill and have a drink while catching up with my friends, listening to whatever's on the jukebox, and relieving some of the stress of school/work. I also enjoy going for a quick jog at my local park when I start sensing that I've been cooped up in the house too long, or hitting the Bally's when it's not too crowded with meatheads.

Music-wise, the old school hip hop station on Sirius/XM satellite radio is #1 on my car radio presets, because they play lots of the music I grew up listening to. Although I'm a terrible dancer, I can nod my head to a beat with the best of them. I'm a fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Mad Men, as well as the Coen Brothers, Tarantino, Scorsese, and a few other directors. I really like being informed and keeping up with current events, whether that means reading The New York Times and listening to NPR, or checking out the latest inane celebrity gossip on TMZ! Hmm... let's see. What other totally random things should I add? Well, my parents are originally from Zacatecas, and I'm left-handed. Plus I've recently become addicted to Coke Zero.

Seriously, though, I'm just a nice, chill guy who's been finding himself caught up in his work lately and who's looking to get out more often and enjoy all the fun events and activities that L.A. has to offer with a like-minded person.
