How about a new friend? No games, romance, dating, or spousal -hunting on the agenda. Just exploring the area, meeting new people, learning something, laughing, and broadening our horizons a little. Anybody game?

Does anybody out there want to explore DC? We live in a great area with so much going on, it seems a shame to waste the opportunity to get out and experience the richness the area has to offer. When was the last time you played tourist? Or listened to a lecture at the Smithsonian?
Have you had high tea on Sunday while listening to jazz music?
Have you hiked Sugarloaf Mountain in the fall as the leaves are turning?
Have you danced at Glen Echo until your feet hurt?
Been to an open mic jam session just to see who shows up to play?
What about biking the C&O canal?
Would you take a Saturday afternoon to vist the Corcoran?
How about making cookies and taking them to a senior center? And while we're there, we can visit someone who doesn't have family nearby.
Have you had a picnic on the lawn at Wolftrap?
Do you ever just thumb through the Friday Post to see if there is some interesting activity going on? Then think- who can I call to do this last minute?
Would you throw a pot-luck dinner and wine tasting? And invite new friends?
Are you a closet Scrabble or Gin Rummy player in search of a fellow enthusiast?

Likes: Wolftrap, the Birchmere, comedy clubs, dancing, back yard bonfires, live music, singing in the shower, antique hunting, Skyline Drive, the lake, breakfasts that are really bad for you but taste GREAT,ski lodges after a few good runs, out of the way pubs, old diners, art galleries, craft shows, hot chocolate chip cookies with ice cold milk, anywhere friends are.

If there are fun, nice, energetic people out there who would like to do something instead of hearing about others' exploits and watching TV, I'd like to meet them, get moving and enjoy life! Let's hike Sugarloaf Mountain, take a walking tour of Ellicott City, check out the First Thursdays art gallery open house, find a dive to listen to Blues music, search for the best burger ever, walk through the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, see who can tell the worst joke. And drag an extra friend along who doesn't get out enough.
