I''m a musician.
Before you think about dating a musician, I should tell you there are two kinds. The kind who lives on friend's couches, and works at Starbucks and who comes to your house and drinks all your booze, while playing in a band once a month, and the second kind: an actual working musician. THis kind owns a house, a car, and shows up on time, and basically lives the life of a normal professional, though with lots of travel, and fun thrown in.
So, I'm the second kind of musician.

I've had a great career so far and it's continuing to grow. It's taken me around the world and back again from South America to Alaska, and also to a whole bunch of places you've never heard of, like Paducah KY, where I've played on three separate ocassions. Met some amazing people and had some great adventures. Currently I'm settled down in Toronto playing on a long running contract.

My life revolves around the arts. Most of my friends are musicians, actors, painters, songwriters, writers etc. So if you get to know me as an added bonus you get to meet other cool people too.

On my free time I like to jam with friends, go to yoga class, walk my loveable mutt, go for drives in the country, taste wines, read novels. Invent and create. Also a big fan of games of leisure ie: pool, darts, and other sports than can be played with a beer in one hand.

I have an extremely active imagination and I'm curious about almost everything. I write short stories, plays and musicals of my own. Had a few things published/produced over the years,and a couple things in what we call "development". Still working on that great novel. You can think of me as cool guy on the outside with an inner nerd.

I've been told I'm an adventurer at heart. If you get me started I can tell you some stories. For instance I once owned land in Mexico on the ocean, until a mob of machete-weilding men took it away. I ran my own theatre company for about two years. I once performed for President Clinton and shook his hand. I recall he had nice aftershave.

I'm also really into being healthy these days - I"m a hard core yoga dude, and eat mostly organic, but not necessarily vegetarian. I still have my party side that I let out from time to time. Work hard and play hard.

One more thing: I'm very loyal, thoughtful and always honest with people. I'm not here to misrepresent myself. What goes around comes around and Lies always get found out, in the end.

But enough about me. Here's what I'm looking for in you:

You are very smart
You are very attractive
You are also easy going and fun,

If you can talk about books, or ideas, or psychology, or something deep that you're passionate about, while looking gorgeous, I'm a goner. If you speak extra languages, bonus hotness points.

The most important thing for me is that the outer beauty is matched by the inner beauty. I've lived, I've travelled, I've done the work, and I like women who've lived and had some adventures, who are doing something committed with their lives, and are not just doing the nine to five thing.

Turn offs: Divas,
The self-involved.
People who can't stop texting long enough to sustain a conversation
People who don't listen
People with negative belief systems
Dogmatic people.


Oh and one more thing. I can spell.

My ideal first date? A glass of wine and a good conversation by a fire at a relaxed pub would be a great start. Hearing a band somewhere play an acoustic set later on would be awesome. Maybe I could try and hustle you at pool. Or I could tell you a story or two.
