About Me
People always ask me; Alyson, why do you want to know my thought on Bacon? I say, You can tell a lot about a person from their relationship with Bacon. Either they love it, they are indifferent, or they don't eat it. Me, I love Bacon. Almost every country has their own style of bacon: spicy bacon, thick bacon, thin bacon, strip bacon, slab bacon, dried bacon, cured bacon. The list is endless. I find that people who love bacon, such as myself, love life. Like to have fun and try to see the positive. People who are indifferent look at life the same way. They are just passengers letting others steer them through life. Those who don't like bacon, well I have never met an amazing person who didn't like bacon. I'm sure there are good-fine people who don't like bacon. I just haven't met any yet. Now I'm not saying this theory is infallible, all theories are. Some people judge by the pet theory. There are a million theories and I like the Bacon Theory.
A bit about me, well, as previously mentioned, I LOVE bacon ;-) I love sports. I play flag football, dodgeball and softball. I enjoy walking marathons and raising money for charities.
Traveling is a passion. I generally try to find a marathon in a great country and make it a really awesome vacation. I did the Paris marathon and then hung out in Amsterdam for a week. I did the Edinburgh marathon and hung out in London. Do something (a marathon) that takes a lot of effort and training and then go completely crazy and have TONS of fun.
And yes, I like to have fun. I can never remember jokes, but I try. I can laugh at myself. Which is always key. I am pretty laid back about most aspects of life but I take work very seriously. And I have a GREAT-AMAZING dog.
First Date
For a first meeting, I think a drink or coffee is best. No long time commitments. If things are going well you can add on dinner or more drinks. If things aren't going well you have an out. I always appreciate honesty, so if there are no sparks and you don't want to go out again, just say the following, "Thanks for a pleasant time. Get home safe and have a nice evening." Easy as that.
As for a first date, I enjoy some kind of activity. Like bowling, or the batting cage, maybe some put-put golf. This way you have something to do. I tend to fiddle when I get nervous, so having something to do with my hands tends to relax me.
