About Me
I've lived in Alaska for 32 years but not always in Anchorage. I spent 2 years in Barrow and 14 years in Fairbanks. Really makes me appreciate Anchorage! I've travelled extensively around the bush as part of a previous job so I've probably seen more of Alaska than most folks. I was born in Tennessee. As a child I lived in Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Idaho, where I graduated from High School and attended University. I have two adult daughters - ages 31 and 29 (soon to be 30). The 31 year-old lives in Anchorage and is the mother of my 3 grandchildren - two boys and a newborn girl. The younger daughter lives in Pennsylvania. I enjoy my job, most days, but I'm very glad that not everyone is an accountant. I work for a small not-for-profit with quite a diversity of creative employees - a great place to spend my days. I like to travel around Alaska and outside. Over the past two years I've been travelling alone. I've been to Hawaii, Pennsylvania & New York (where I went to Gettysburgh & Niagara Falls) and Colorado (where I went to Pikes Peak). This Christmas vacation I'll be going to Roatan Honduras for a week of scuba diving. Last summer I went Halibut fishing in Homer a couple of times and took a week off to dipnet on the Kenai, staying in my RV. The Halibut's almost all gone but I have a bunch of salmon canned and more in my freezer. My father passed away last year just as my divorce was final so I'm living in his condo until the estate can sell it. I could be here a month or I could be here a couple of years - who knows. My mother passed away in 1992 from Ovarian cancer. I hope to retire by age 66. I'd consider relocating to Washington or Oregon - perhaps elsewhere. I'd keep a home in Alaska - maybe in Homer. I enjoy almost any music except rap and gospel. I enjoy most movies - and I've seen my share of chick flicks - but I really prefer a good comedy - I like to laugh. I'd really like to find a new best friend and lover. Someone to travel with me and enjoy the time we still have left. Someone I can serve coffee and breakfast to in bed. I want to fall in love for the last time. Do you?
First Date
A first meeting and a first date are two different things. Our first meeting would be to see if we share enough chemistry to do a first date. I'd recommend meeting for coffee and having a discussion about our hopes and dreams. First Date? What would you like to do? I'd suggest dinner and a movie. We could chat over dinner and get to know a bit more about each other. After the movie we could go to Blues Central to enjoy the music and perhaps dance a bit. Another possible first date, in the summer, would be to ride bicycles on the Coastal Trail or go for a ride on my Harley along with the local Harley Owners Group chapter. We do Wednesday night dinner cruises and take day trips most Saturdays to places like Talkeetna, Seward or even just to Hope.
