Although I like hanging out in and exploring cities, I'm mostly outdoorsy. My favorite sport is downhill mountain biking; I also like to ski, and I'll settle for a hike if there's no mountain bike trails or snow. I bodyboarded a lot when I was growing up, and I still love to get a few tube rides when I can. I never made the switch to a surfboard; I just like getting barreled. Since there are no waves around here, the next best thing is riding my longboard around a city or in a park.

Right now, I'm an officer in the Army, flying helicopters. It's a lot of work sometimes, but it's totally worth it when I get to fly. I'd probably do it for free or at least just enough money to live at the airport. If I can land a job flying helicopters after I get out I'll probably do it until I die. Otherwise I want to manage a ski resort around Lake Tahoe.

I grew up in one of the most liberal areas of California, so I'm a lot more open-minded and laid-back than the miltary stereotype. When people get to know me before they find out that I'm in the Army they are usually surprised to find out and sometimes I feel like they don't believe I could be in the military. I take that as a compliment.

Music is a huge part of my life. I listen to a lot of stoner/desert rock like Queens of the Stone Age or Eagles of Death Metal, some reggae rock like Slightly Stoopid or Epicure, and some indie rock like the Black Angels or Blitzen Trapper. I play electric guitar, but I'm mediocre at best.

I think going to get coffee then walking around a park or a shop district is a good first date. You get to know a lot about what your date is interested in, and if you really hit it off you can always extend into dinner.
