I'm looking to find a best friend. I'd like to be able to come home and share my experiences with someone at the end of the day, or end of a trip. I'd like to share my enthusiasum for nature and other interests with someone that appreciates similair activities.
Time and enery is required to test the chemistry of the relationship to see if this evolves. Dating is probably the best term that can be used to describe this process.
Common interests and preferences are a good starting place and as an example:
I'd rather be walking and talking than dancing. I'd prefer to be discussing science or philosophy than hockey or baseball. I'd sooner be talking baseball than tennis. If we get to cricket, it would be on my hook.

I love to be near the water. Taking walks along a creek or stream and enjoying what nature has to offer along the way has always be one of my very favorite activities. I enjoy sitting at the end of a pier gazing out over a placid lake or one that's rolling in waves from high winds. I enjoy my little pond in the back yard as well as watching the water fall over Niagara, or a small falls in the Smokey Mountains.

I'm just getting into water gardening, but I like it a lot.
Up until 1996, I thought the only reason I'd ever go to Wisconsin, was to fish. My favorite fishing trip ever was to Kashabowi, Ontario. We caught walleyes and had them for lunch on a small island just minutes after being alive.
Best salt water trip was to Seward, Alaska Halibut fishing. Limited out both days.
Best and only canoe trip was boundry water, MN/Canada. This was real camping, it hardly rained, fishing was great. I knew if I tried to duplicate it, it wouldn't measure up.
My goal is to continue working for at least a few more years.
I recall thinking to myself that a few years earlier, I'd never had imagined that I might one day be standing on a railroad platform in Chittarangen, India (while standing there).(It was an experience to say the least).

I have also been to Switzerland, Austria and Germany and would enjoy going back there with my best friend.
I'm not one for fancy clothes. Clean and neat is good by me.
In most cases I prefer functionality over looks.
I'm a mechanic, but not a "gearhead". I use a computer for my job and do programming, but I don't write software. I play the drums, but you won't want to hear me play more than a minute. I used to play golf, but I seem to play better the less I play, so I haven't in years.
My favorite song is "Deep Purple" by brother and sister team April Stevens and Nino Temple. I also like Layla by Derrik and the Dominos, (Eric lately). I feel the same way as Bruce Willis' character in Die Hard regarding torture.(He's referring to rap music).
My favorite author for fiction is the late Micheal Crighton.
My favorite movie constantly changes, but "Bank Job" would be fitting.
Of course I didn't get very detailed on the future, because it's hard to say what will actually happen. At this point, I'd like a relationship that would bring us together with one or the others families on birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. And when it's not any particular day, our relationship would bring us together for ourselves, be it in person, or over the phone.

Depends on the time of the year. Something outside might be interesting,especially if the weather is nice. We could go to a park, walk along a stream and stop and have a picnic.

If it's winter we could have coffee and a snowball fight, with the "fight" being optional of course.
The last movie I went to was the "Quantum of Solice" the day it was released. I saw it with associates from work in Ankara, Turkey, in the "Mall". I'd much prefer to be going to the movies with "My Best Friend".
