I'm nice (often too nice

) and I tend to get taken advantage of. I enjoy hanging out with friends. I have a steady job where I wish to be until I retire. I'm in the process of trying to buy a house and have not been doing too badly.
I'm quirky and have a dry sense of humor. I'm a bit like Sally when I order food, I just like what I like. But I'll bend over backwards

to make you feel welcome in my house. I'm not your typical - Gotta have shoes - girl. I'm more of the action movies, go fishin, do some RV camping, hang out and have a good time kind of girl.
I'm independent and I'm okay being without someone, but I often think of how nice it would be to have someone to share my life with. To express thoughts, ideas and fears with. To have a person to take care of and to take care of me.
I don't like malls, or department stores - they make me break out in hives. I try to avoid them at all costs - though I do like Spencers and the movie theaters in the mall. I'm just not a huge shopper. When I do shop, I have an idea of what it is that I want, I go in and get it.
I like just about all kinds of music. I don't care for Country, as it's only good for dancing. I have to be in a certain mood to listen to it and that mood hasn't hit me in over 8 years. I like Hip Hop, R&B, Heavy Metal (80's & 90's), Alternative, Show Tunes, Classical, New Age, Pop Rock, Opera, like I said, just about all kinds.
I love animals and have three of them. Yes, I am the lady that lives in the house with the animals that the kids cross the street for... :) Have I mentioned I have a good sense of humor and laugh at myself frequently.
I'm also a bit old fashioned, so if you want to say hi, please do. I will respond.
First dates are nerve-wrecking.
You're wondering if they like you - do you like them... so I like to do something with as little stress as possible. Something that gives you a chance to talk but have other things to distract you.
Such as walking around a lake, going downtown to meet at an interesting place for lunch/dinner/drinks/coffee. Once lunch/dinner/coffee/whatever is done, walk back to where you met up. If there's something there, then make a second date. If there's nothing there, then you've at least had the chance to meet someone new and have some good conversation (hopefully).
