About Me
I am the kid of man that always opens the door and walks on the street side of the sidewalk. That’s the way I was raised. I don’t mind listening to what you have to say. In fact I like to hear what interests you. I don’t just sit there, I do listen. I like to chime in as well, if I know something about the subject. This means it must be an intelligent conversation. I don’t like gossip.
I have been around the world twice and love to travel. I speak several languages and love to see and learn different cultures. I also love to cook when I have time. I have experienced many kinds of food in my travels and love to entertain. I believe that dining can be a sensual experience not just for the tongue but for all the senses. If I cook for just one person I can put several days into one meal just to give them a new experience.
I love music too. I can be found listening to just about anything at any given moment. It depends on what moves me at the time. One minute could be heavy metal the next could be classical or Enya. Like I said, I am all about the experiences of life.
I like to keep life uncluttered. Instead of collecting a lot of things, I like to collect experiences. I have a few souvenirs and a lot of pictures. That way I keep my memories and not a lot of “junk”. The one thing I do collect however are books. Education is very important to me and I am working on a bachelor’s degree.
I am a Marine in the reserves and am planning on going for an officer position after I finish my bachelor's program. I love the Corps and all it has done for me. You'll notice that all of my pictures are of me as a Marine. That is because I don't think my pre-Corps pictures do me any justice. If there's a photographer out there, I'm willing to get some updated "civilian" pictures. hehe
I feel I have grown a lot in the past few years and know who I am and what I want. I don't like games and am in motion to lay a foundation for a family (not that I have to have one immediately). I am just transitioning to a point where I'm ready to "settle down". I am not rushing, I'm just getting ready. It doesn't matter if it happens tomorrow or ten years from now; I'd rather be ready than sorry.
First Date
A first date should be casual enough to be comfortable but should be memorable too. Simple activities like bowling, tennis, trips to the zoo or an aviary with a nice meal at a good restaurant can let two people get to know eachother.
