I have a job that allows me to enjoy the small things. It's not the best job ever, but it doesn't interfere with life outside of work above or beyond the almost constant request for overtime (from then, not me). I'm pretty sure that it's not a career but it is a job, so there's that, at any rate.

I listen to any and all kinds of music. Right now I'm on a jazz kick. My favorite band is Clutch....decidedly not jazz. I like a little bit of everything. I sing along only when I'm comfortable in the presence of the people I find myself with, but I've been told I have a decent voice.

I am a rather large dork (literally and figuratively). I play table top wargames, card games, rpgs, video games, you name it. I read books. Typically more than once. I have a podcast that a friend and I do that's in its infancy that covers movies and games. I handle the games aspect of it.

I have a bad habit of trying to set things up WAY in advance, but am also generally flexible enough to do a seat of the pants thing. I'm not a native Californian (I grew up in Iowa...corn is what makes you as tall as I am), although I seem to have met only natives here, despite the saying that no one is a native. Some of the places I find out here I hafta look up, but driving does not intimidate me. I enjoy it. I drove out here from Long Island when I finally moved out here.

My sense of humor trends toward the ironic. I'm big into loyalty, as I have an strong sense of it. Dogs like me as a general rule, and so do kids once they get over the fact that I'm as big as I am. I'm undecided about my own, but I like them as well.

I'm really not much for going out to bars, unless it's with people I already know. I'm much more the few close friends type of guy than the tons of acquaintances. if you ask me what I think, I'll tell you, although I might reserve the right to hold onto my opinion.

I'm looking for a companion. Someone to share highs and lows with, or even just middles.

Something simple and fun like mini-golf or bowling. Anything that allows conversation to move at a normal pace. Movies are bad for this, at least for others, I tend to do a running commentary. Food isn't so bad, except that conversation seems to stop once the food shows up.
