Like a lot of people my age, I have gotten myself divorced although it was not my idea. But you gotta go with the hand dealt unless you can find some way to cheat your way out of it. Not too many are successful at that. Now I'm looking for someone to go on a life long date with me. It is nice to share values and interests but not being from the same mold makes us unique and interesting and that keeps you guessing. Interests include woodworking, home remodeling, traveling, cooking, camping, and I could go on, but anything that is fun basically. I don't like being a couch potato. I have a wide range of musical interests depending on mood. I can go with my favorite 50-70's oldies, or classical, big band, and even a bit of classic country. But leave out the rap please. As I have heard it said, they just forgot to put a "C' in front of it. I have a lot of favorite foods. Anywhere from seafood ( but not sushi ), BBQ, Thai, Mexican, or Italian. I'm willing to try anything and have had rattlesnake, frog legs, and squirrel on camping trips. I do enjoy the outdoors when we have nice weather and like hiking, evening walks, bike riding, and sightseeing. Not above stopping at a garage sale or even an open house on a whim. I'm looking for someone to share the adventure. Care to come out and play?

There are several schools of thought for first dates. Unless you have been emailing someone or talking on the phone with them for awhile I believe you should keep it light and short with the option of something longer if Chemistry 101 exists. That might include just having coffee at Starbucks or maybe a light lunch. And if things aren't going well then you aren't stuck. Now, if you have been communicating with someone for awhile then something niceer is in order. Maybe a nice dinner at some nice restaurant like Olive Garden or McGrath's Fish House. Then to a club for some dancing if you so desire. I personally like Beaches Restaurant and Bar in Vancouver on the Columbia. Good food and views of boats going by. And a nice walk on the boardwalk afterwards. Come on women- this is 2009! Don't be afraid to make the first move. If someone interests you, contact them. What can you lose?
