I'm a second grade teacher at a nonprofit in Harlem and I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Policy and Reform. I'm big on challenging myself and evolving constantly. I need someone who can meet/challenge me on every level (intellectually, emotionally, conversationally, etc.). I am constantly in motion whether literally or figuratively and would love someone who pushes me in new directions.

On a similar note, I love to travel and I think good travel companions make excellent couples. I'm equally comfortable backpacking through the deserts of South America or dining in a Tuscan Villa (both of which I've done). I lived abroad, am bilingual, and love to explore new things. I like the feeling of not quite belonging or understanding a culture/place and then slowly unraveling the secret. That's what I love about New York...international travel via Metrocard.

The first time I meet up with someone, I'd most likely grab coffee at a local shop (not Starbucks), grab beers at a Dive Bar, or split tapas and wine at a lounge. That way there's a laid back atmosphere, plenty of time to "get to know each other" without distractions and no commitment to sit through a long dinner! If things work out, coffee, beers, or wine can easily turn into dinner later.
