I'm a PhD student and work mostly with kiddos in my counseling job; separated for a year and a half with grown kids; husband and I are fine with each other seeing other people before divorce is final.....really!; I love going to see music I already like and checking out new bands (just saw Del Castillo last weekend for the first time and loved them!); love Gruene Hall; like all kinds of music except heavy metal and most rap. Just discovered Bob Schneider's music this year and love his band!

I enjoy hanging out on my deck with my my musically talented friends and chillin'; I'm a vegetarian, no, make that pescatarian (I eat seafood); lived abroad for much of my upbringing and part of my married life and have travelled extensively; my friends and family say I'm one of the friendliest people they know and I have lots of friends all over because of moving so much; I'm fun to be with and have a great sense of humor; my life philosophy is "love what is" and be flexible. I have a great group of friends I went to college with and we meet every year on the Blanco River for a weekend to reconnect and have a blast.

When I finish my PhD, I plan to teach at the university level, have a private practice specializing in play therapy and other creative/expressive therapies for children and families, get on the training/teaching circuit and go abroad for brief assignments; research and publish articles and books in my field.

I try to get a dose of live music every week in Austin, San Marcos or New Braunfels. It's practically impossible for me to listen to music and remain perfectly still! I LOVE to move and dance and embrace the joy. I smile and laugh a lot :)

I have a very close family of origin and am very close with my two grown daughters, one of whom lives with me. All my daughters' friends (my "adopted" kids") know my house is open to them to come hang out, grab a bite to eat, play music, sleep on the couch if they need a place to crash. And I love them all. I have two dogs and two cats who are part of the family and pretty darn cool.

I live in San Marcos, and go to school 3 days a week in San Antonio. I don't have a whole lot of time to devote to a relationship right now, but I would love to meet someone who likes to have fun, laugh and dance to the music :) I've been very attracted to musicians and creative types in the past (and now)! I'm in a friendly divorce process, and both of us are dedicated to remaining friends. We both recognize that we're both good people, just not meant to stay together forever.

I'm very healthy emotionally, know who I am and what I want. I'm passionate about what I do and how much I'm learning in life and in school. I'm politically liberal and a pacifist, but I'm not super active in any political causes. They all seem to be about getting angry and fighting something, and I don't like fighting or being angry. I'm a Methodist preacher's kid and appreciate the community that can be found in a church. However, I more fully embrace a spirituality that recognizes the value in all belief systems and doesn't preach that one way is better than another. My philosophy is to live with grace and joy, recognizing that there is a ripple effect, mostly unseen, but happening all around us, nonetheless. And I believe there are angels all around us :)

I like men who are masculine and also embrace their "feminine" side, like talking about emotions, what makes people tick, philosophy, metaphysics, music, fascinating books and movies, and are interested in making the world a better place by embracing joy even in the seemingly mundane events and tasks of life.

I choose not to hang out with people who complain, have a negative outlook on life, are prejudiced, intolerant and impatient.

Hmmmmm.....a first date????? It's been ages since I've been on a date! Coffee, tea, happy hour? Let's meet at a public place where we can chat and see if there's a spark! After that, I'd love to go dancing to some live music and if that's successful, a third date could be a picnic somewhere like Canyon Lake or the San Marcos River.
