First of all I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to check out my profile. I'm a single dad (p/t custody - 3 days/week) of a toddler son that is absolutely adorable! He's the joy in my life right now. Besides being a single dad, when I have free time I enjoy an active life (snowboarding, indoor rock climbing, triathlons, working out). I'd also like to take on new challenges in the future. Don't get me wrong a little rest and relaxation is always nice too, movies, walks, listening to music, concerts, shooting pool, sitting on a beach, or even sitting on the couch watching TV or playing board/card games with some friends.

If people were to describe me they would say that I'm usually smiling... so much so, that everywhere I work I end up with the nickname "smiley"... Not my favorite choice, but if the shoe fits. I've gotten tired of the bar scene, most women are looking for the bad boy just not my crowd. So that's what brings me here not to mention a recommendation from a co-worker.

I'm a graduate of Towson University and currently employed with the government as a supervisor (Dept. of Environment) but often I feel like a life counselor. Most of my free time is spent taking care of my son and house/yard work. My immediate plans are to possibly sell my house in the spring and relocate to somewhere within an hour commute of Baltimore. My taste in music is very broad mostly filled with alternative rock, bands like Cake, Live, Pearl Jam, to name a few but also dabble in other music (top 40, local bands, and acoustic music) and I can't forget Rage Against the Machine & Tool.

What I'm looking for in a woman is someone who would be independent, have her own goals, a good communicator and not afraid to show and receive affection. All in all an equal partner in life. I have a lot of friends that I can do things with but no one to do nothing with! However, if we do share some commonalities that's always a plus. I think love doesn't happen in a date or two, it's from sharing life experiences together, beginning to learn and trust each other, then planning and looking for a future helping each other to reach their life goals together. Ultimately I want to be the best father and husband/equal partner I can be, marrying my soulmate and possibly having another child or two if that's in their wishes.

I'm open to anything but if it were up to me, I find that if the first date is an elaborate dinner, I really can't enjoy the food and learn about the person at the same time. A casual date I think would be best, either a cup of joe, some chai tea, or drinks at a bar with some light food. If that all goes well maybe a change of venue where some live music is playing.
